A standard PVC pipe is not rated for prolonged direct sunlight or for corrosive atmospheres. Coating addresses both without changing the pressure rating of the pipe underneath.
Epoxy coating gives chemical resistance and a cleanable surface; fiberglass reinforcement adds external mechanical protection for exposed or buried aggressive service.
